During the inauguration of a new square in Gaza, a Hamas official declared that “the bloodshed [against Israel] will not stop.”
Hamas has found a new way to celebrate its terrorism against Israel, dedicating a square in Gaza to one of its most powerful weapons. During an inauguration ceremony Monday, the terrorist group celebrated the strength of its M-75 rocket. One of the rockets sits in the center of the square, propped on top of a plaque that records its first launch at major Israeli cities in 2012.
The square is also dedicated to Ibrahim al-Maqadma, the founder of the Al-Aqsa Brigades, Hamas’ military wing. On separate occasions, the IDF and the Palestinian Authority both arrested the famed terrorist leader.

Because importing weapons has become more difficult for Hamas, the terrorist organization has begun manufacturing rockets inside of the Gaza Strip. Today Hamas is producing its own rockets, namely the M-75, which can reach several major cities in Israel.
In an effort to demonstrate strength, Hamas routinely parades the streets of Gaza with the rocket. These public displays allow Hamas to assert its dominance while inspiring members of the younger generation to join its ranks.

“They focus on rockets of higher quality,” an IDF officer recently explained to the IDF Blog. “During Operation Pillar of Defense, only five M-75 rockets were fired, but we expect more in a future conflict.” The rocket is only one part of Hamas’ expanding arsenal. Today there are more than 10,000 rockets, mortar shells and ammunition in the hands of the Gaza terrorists.
The monument revealed Monday features a drawing of Palestine from the British Mandate, as well as the dates on which terrorists fired the rockets at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during the 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense.

Question marks on areas in northern Israel suggest that Hamas intends to obtain upgraded rockets and fire them at greater ranges. Indeed, just last week, the IDF intercepted an Iranian weapons shipment to Gaza terrorists, including M-302 rockets that can strike almost anywhere in Israel.
During Monday’s ceremony, a Hamas official declared that in any future confrontation with the Jewish state, cities in the far north of Israel would be targeted. “The bloodshed will not stop until the owners [of Palestine] recover their rights and until the holy places are returned to the islamic nation,” another leader of the Al-Qassam Brigades declared.
